Terms of Use — Philippine Academy of Microbiology, Inc. (PAM)

The terms governing your use of pam.org.ph and PAM's certification, registry, and CPD services.

By accessing pam.org.ph or applying for certification, membership, or CPD accreditation with the Philippine Academy of Microbiology, Inc. (PAM), you agree to these Terms of Use. Certification-specific rules are governed by PAM's Constitution and By-Laws and published certification criteria.

Section 1

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of pam.org.ph (the "Site") and any certification, registry, CPD, or membership service offered by PAM. By using the Site or submitting an application, nomination, or CPD report to PAM, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site and PAM's online services.

Section 2

Acceptable Use

When using the Site, you agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information in an application, nomination, CPD report, or registry inquiry;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, PAM's records, or the Public Registry beyond its intended public search function;
  • Use the Site to harass, defame, or misrepresent the certification status of any individual; or
  • Interfere with the normal operation of the Site, including through automated scraping of the Public Registry at a scale beyond individual verification lookups.

Section 3

Use of PAM Certification

RMicro, SMicro, Diplomate, and Fellow designations remain the property of PAM and are granted subject to continued compliance with PAM's certification criteria, Constitution and By-Laws, and CPD requirements. PAM may suspend or withdraw certification in accordance with its published processes, including for non-compliance with CPD requirements, ethical violations, or misrepresentation of certification status.

Section 4

Intellectual Property

The PAM name, seal, logo, and published materials — including certification criteria, forms, and the Public Registry — are the property of the Philippine Academy of Microbiology, Inc. Forms and guidelines under Resources may be downloaded and used solely for the purpose of applying to or complying with PAM's certification schemes, and may not be reproduced or redistributed for other purposes without PAM's written consent.

Section 5

Disclaimers

The Site and Public Registry are provided on an "as is" basis. While PAM takes reasonable care to keep certification records accurate and current, PAM does not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Registry verification results should be confirmed directly with PAM at connect@pam.org.ph for decisions with legal or employment consequences.

Section 6

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Philippine law, PAM shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or reliance on information published on it, including the Public Registry.

Section 7

Fees and Payments

Certification exam fees, membership dues, and other charges are published in PAM's Certification Schemes and Resources pages and are payable through the official Philippine National Bank (PNB) account listed in Contact Us. Fees are generally non-refundable once an application has been processed, except as otherwise stated in the applicable certification criteria.

Section 8

Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from your use of the Site or PAM's certification services shall be resolved in accordance with PAM's Constitution and By-Laws and, where applicable, the jurisdiction of the Philippine courts.

Section 9

Changes to These Terms

PAM may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting to this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For questions, contact connect@pam.org.ph.
