Common questions about application documents, eligibility, and the certification process.

Can applicants temporarily submit a Certificate of Candidacy, Certificate of Completion, or departmental certification instead of the official Diploma before the application deadline?
No. If the official Diploma is not yet available, applicants may submit a Certificate of Graduation instead. Other documents, such as a Certificate of Candidacy, Certificate of Completion, or departmental certification, will not be accepted as substitutes.
What should I do if I missed a document or submitted an incomplete application? Do I need to resubmit everything?
If you have already submitted your application and believe that a document is missing, email the Certification Board (CBd) at connect@pam.org.ph and wait for further instructions before submitting another response.
What documents and fees are required for applicants who previously qualified to take the exam in past years but missed the payment or exam deadlines?
Applicants who previously qualified but were unable to complete the payment or take the examination within the prescribed deadlines must submit the following requirements through the Google Form:
  • Accomplished application form
  • Notification letter confirming their qualification to take the examination
  • Proof of payment of the examination fee
Please refer to the Google Form for the complete application requirements and submission instructions.
Can units earned from laboratory courses be counted toward the required lecture course units if listed separately in the TOR?
Only the course units officially indicated in the Transcript of Records (TOR) will be considered. Course units will be credited according to the information reflected in the official transcript.
Can the Certification Board provide an initial pre-evaluation or transcript assessment for graduates of non-microbiology majors (e.g., BS Biology in Zoology, Medical Technology) to determine credited and missing microbiology units?
The Certification Board does not conduct preliminary evaluations or assess incomplete applications. Applicants should review the eligibility requirements and self-assess their academic records to determine whether they have completed the required microbiology units.
Is the application fee refundable if an applicant is found ineligible?
No. The application fee is non-refundable, even if an applicant is assessed to be ineligible.
Are Registered Medical Technologists and graduates of BS Medical Technology eligible to apply and take the RMicro certification examination?
Yes. Registered Medical Technologists and graduates of BS Medical Technology may apply for the RMicro Certification Examination, provided they meet all eligibility requirements, including the completion of at least 24 units of microbiology courses.
Are non-first-time takers still eligible to be topnotchers?
Only applicants who retake all examination subjects are eligible for topnotcher recognition. Conditional passers who retake only one or two subjects are not eligible for topnotcher recognition.
