Philippine Academy of Microbiology Inc. (PAM) is a non-profit government organization dedicated to advancing the field of microbiology in the Philippines. Through research, education, and collaboration, PAM strives to enhance scientific knowledge and promote innovation by certifying microbiologists through the different levels of certification schemes.

2. Where is the office of PAM?

PAM is located at 10037 Ruby St., Los Baños Subd., Batong Malake, Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines.

3. Does PAM have an official social media platform?

Yes, PAM has a Facebook Page: Philippine Academy of Microbiology, Inc. This is mainly used for announcements and information posting. Messaging is not regularly monitored, therefore official queries must be emailed to connect@pam.org.ph.

4. How can I become a member of PAM?

Nominated and conferred Diplomates and Fellows become members of the Academy. Check the website (https://pam.org.ph) under the Registry tab for the list of members. Check the Resources tab for the nomination guidelines and documents.

Through email. Most of the information can be found at the website and Facebook page. If you think your query cannot be found anywhere, please send email to connect@pam.org.ph. 8. What are the certification schemes of PAM?

PAM certifies Registered (RMicro) and Specialist (SMicro) Microbiologists. For RMicro, it can either be WITH EXAM or WITHOUT Exam. Guidelines and application forms can be found in the Resources tab of the website (https://pam.org.ph).

9. Does PAM hold oath-taking and conferment ceremonies?

Yes. RMicro exam passers, certified RMicro without exam and SMicro are required to take oath in an event organized by PAM for this purpose. Diplomates and Fellows are required to attend conferment ceremonies in an event organized by PAM for this purpose.
